The protesters alleged that the 16-year-old victim, who was cremated discreetly by her parents, was actually raped by her brother and was later killed to evade police action.
Notably, when villagers questioned the way the girl was cremated on May 25, her kin said that they found her dead in the house and cremated her in the village crematorium.
The protesters accused the victim's brother of raping and murdering her to save the family's honour and evade police action.
They demanded death penalty for the suspect and harsh punishment for the parents of the girl. The blockade was lifted after Meham station house officer (SHO) Kuldeep Beniwal told the protesters that the matter would be investigated and a criminal case would be registered against anyone found guilty.
However, the girl's parents rubbished the charges before mediapersons and said that their daughter was found dead and they cremated her as they did not suspect anything unusual in it.
