A THIRD year BBA student of Babu Banarasi Das College, Aakash (21), was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a rented room in Mahanagar on Monday. Though the Aakash’s friends claimed that it was a case of suicide, the family members suspected that it was a case of murder.

Significantly, the youth was alone with a girl in the room from where he was taken to the Sewa Hospital where he was declared brought dead. The cops have detained three of youth’s friends and the girl for interrogation.

Aakash’s grandfather DP Bora is an ex-MLA and senior politician while his uncle Dr Neeraj Bora owns Sewa Hospital.

The incident came to light in the evening when three youths reached the hospital carrying another youth in an unconscious state. The hospital staff immediately identified the youth as their employer Dr Neeraj’s nephew, Aakash.

The doctors on duty conducted an intensive check-up but found the youth brought dead. A ligature mark around his neck suggested hanging as a cause behind the death prima facie. The police were informed immediately.

The cops rushed to the hospital to know that Aakash, a resident of Sector-C, Mahanagar and his friends had hired a room in the same area near Sarkar Diagnostic Centre two days back only. Aakash had even informed his family members that he had taken a room on rent for study.

It was on Monday only that Aakash and his friends were arranging for chairs, table and other commodities required in the room.

Aakash’s friends identified as Imran, Anurag and Rohit told the police that they had gone outside and returned in the evening to find his (Aakash’s) body hanging and a girl (later identified as Deepa of Rajajipuram) sitting in the room.

They brought him on ground and rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead.

However, later in the course of interrogation, Imran said that he had locked the room from outside leaving Aakash and the girl inside. The trio arrived at the room later and rushed Aakash to the hospital.

The police claimed that Deepa was giving misleading statements about the death of the boy. The real story behind the incident would come to light only after rigorous quizzing of Deepa.
