"Despite police's efforts to curb them, more and more incidents of idol desecration are coming to fore," Naik told PTI.

I will raise the issue in Parliament next week, he said.

Naik was perturbed after recent incidents of desecrating idol at a temple in South Goa. He said although the concerned issue is a state subject, there appears to be a "larger conspiracy" of which Parliament should also be made aware of.

Naik before leaving for New Delhi visited Mahalakshmi Temple at Girdolim Temple, where last week a clay idol inside the sanctum sanatorium of the Temple was broken.

The state has witnessed around 30 incidents of idol desecrations. The state police have formed a special squad to nail the accused involved in such incidents.
