People from the districts of Muktsar, Faridkot and Moga thronged 'sarovars' (sacred tanks) of historic gurdwaras like the Gurudwara Godari Sahib of Baba Farid at Faridkot and Nanaksar and Takhtupura in Moga district.

They also visited gurdwaras to pay obeisance and participated in the Akhand Paath of Guru Granth Sahib.

Community kitchens or langars were organised and gurudwaras were illuminated to mark the occasion.
