Narain, Massa caught in a war of words

However, the team's good outing was not without controversy as Ferrari's Felipe Massa felt the Indian driver unwillingness to be lapped cost him a podium finish.

"He (Narain) was going very slowly on the dry line but then, as I was passing him on the wet, he accelerated and I lost control of the car ending up in the wall. Thanks to the next Safety Car, I was able to catch up to the pack and then, in the end, I passed a few cars to get as high as sixth. I am angry, there is no point denying it," Massa said. Karthikeyan, however, felt Massa had only himself to blame. "I'm very surprised that a driver with Massa's experience would make such an unfair statement. He's just trying to find someone else to blame for his own mistake," the 34-year-old told HT.

Despite a confident drive, Narain's race ended on a bitter note as he was slapped a post-race penalty that saw in him finishing in 17th place instead of 14th.
