Sitting MLA: Col Ajay Narayan Mushran (Congress)
This constituency should have worn a much better look since it holds a major part of district headquarters and is home constituency of none other than the State’s finance minister. But Narsinghpur comes upon as any other township, with very bad roads and a sleepy outlook.
But the Mushran presence is surely there in a different way. On every other building or public construction, one can find the name Mushran. This `personalising’ of the constituency is sure to become one of the major planks to be taken up by the BJP as the Congress has again fielded the ailing Mushran. Mushran might face tough competition in the form of former MLA Uttam Chandra Lunawat, who is considered one of the strong candidates that the BJP might offer in the constituency. BJP general secretary Mahant Pitampuri Goswami, is among a dozen odd candidates vying for the seat.
The BSP, even if it might not make as much difference to this seat, like Bohani or Gotegaon, is sure to run some shivers down the main candidates’ spines.
