Addressing a dharna held under the banner of Gujarat Jan Andolan to protest against alleged "misuse" of POTA against minorities, Pandya described Modi as a "dictator" and said that "time had come to defeat people like him and Advani".
"Bad elements exist in all communities. It was totally wrong to apply POTA only against minorities", the septuagenarian said adding because of this, he had decided to contest against Advani from Gandhinagar.
Speakers at the dharna demanded immediate revocation of the anti-terror law in all cases in Gujarat.
