NC, Congress shielding the corrupt

People's Democratic Party on Wednesday accused the National Conference-led coalition government of allegedly patronising corrupt persons and eroding all anti-graft institutions.

People's Democratic Party on Wednesday accused the National Conference-led coalition government of allegedly patronising corrupt persons and eroding all anti-graft institutions.

It said the government deliberately weakened those institutions which were supposed to keep a check on corruption.

"Since NC has not done anything good for the people it is now banking upon allegations and counter allegations," said PDP leader Abdul Hamid Choudhary in Nagrota.

He said the "clean image" of PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Saeed and his principles could help the Nagrota constituency in development.

Choudhary said people still remember the chief ministerial tenure of Sayeed "as corruption was controlled and relations with Pakistan had improved".
