Gunmen shot at and critically wounded a National Conference worker in Shopian district of South Kashmir, police said on Wednesday.
The assailants fired at Abdul Rehman Wachkoo around 10.30 pm last night when he was returning home after offering prayers at a local mosque in Shopian, 52 kms from Srinagar.
The Imam of the mosque Bashir Ahmad also suffered minor injuries.
Wachkoo was rushed to Srinagar for specialised treatment.
