Acting on a tip-off, troops of 19 Madras Regiment launched an operation in Manglajhora village and an encounter followed in which one militant was killed while another managed to escape.

The slain militant has been identified as L Dengbwn of the outfit's anti-talk faction.

The security forces recovered a 7.65 mm pistol with two rounds of live cartridges and several documents related to the NDFB, the sources added.
