Nepalese couple held with charas

A Nepalese couple was arrested and charas worth Rs two lakh allegedly seized from its possession in Champawat district of Uttarakhand, police said.

Ram Bahadur Kharka and his wife Parvati, both resident of Bijon district in Nepal, were arrested on Monday from Sharda barrage near the Indo-Nepal border after police allegedly recovered two kgs of charas worth Rs 2 lakh in the international market from their possession.

The couple was going to Haridwar to sell the contraband, police said, adding the two have been booked under the NDPS Act.
