The existing Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) airport would likely remain in use for smaller aircraft, HT reports.
The new Bangalore International Airport in Devanahalli is likely to start functioning by the end of next month, Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel told reporters after an extensive meeting with officials from the airport.

The existing Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) airport would likely remain in use for smaller aircraft. “We have given them (BIAL) various options including allowing aircraft less than 80-seaters to operate out of the existing airport,” Patel said.
He said extensive discussions were held with BIAL, the operators of the new airport, “in accordance with advice of the Karnataka High Court regarding the opening of the new Bangalore airport.”
