The conference, organised by Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), will be held on March 30 and 31, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Alexeyev said.

"The agenda comprises trilateral interaction in energy, pharmaceutics, science and technology, aircraft construction, bio and information technologies, and in the area of financial services," Alexeyev said.

He said that this initiative of India was supported at the meeting of foreign ministers of the three countries in Vladivostok on June 2, 2005 and endorsed during the Indo-Russian summit in December.

The Deputy Minister also said that preparation for a trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Russia, China and India was under way.

"Such contacts that have already become a tradition enable us to discuss questions of common interest of cooperation in the economic area, of coping with new challenges and threats, of ensuring regional stability."

"Debates in trilateral format also make it possible to synchronise watches on major international issues," he said.
