"Lata didi will be at home the entire day, but in the evening she will be attending a music function as the chief guest," family sources said here.

Born in a family of artistes, Lata began singing at the age of 16 and has continued to enthrall audiences since then.

Felicitated with the Bharat Ratna in 2001 and recognised as an icon of Indian music, Lata and her sister Asha Bhonsle have dominated Hindi film music for six decades.

Lata is also listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the most recorded artist in the world with not less than 30,000 solo, duet and chorus-backed songs, recorded in 20 Indian languages between 1948 and 1987.
