Nimbus Sports bags telecast rights

BCCI has awarded Nimbus Sports the rights for all international and domestic matches from Mar 2006 to Mar 2010.

The BCCI on Thursday announced that Nimbus Sports, the television production company, will produce all international and domestic matches in the next four years, beginning from from March 2006 to March 2010.

Lalit Modi, Chairman of the BCCI Marketing Sub Committee said, "BCCI
in its quest for development of cricket in India wishes to provide the
cricket fan the best viewing experience."

"Three companies submitted the tenders and the BCCI Marketing Sub Committee scrutinised the bids and concluded that two bidders Nimbus Sport and TWI had the requisite qualifications and experience as per the conditions listed in the Invitation to Tender.

"Accordingly the financial bids were opened on Thursday morning in Mumbai in the presence of the bidders. With Nimbus Sport’s excellent track record and very competitive cost BCCI has secured for itself and its fans a fantastic level of television coverage never before seen in India cricket," he added.

Also in store for viewers is an unprecedented bonanza for viewers with up to 72 days of domestic cricket coverage being part of the package that will be produced by Nimbus Sport. BCCI’s continuing focus on domestic cricket and the revenues of it affiliates is the bedrock for the continuing success of Indian cricket.
