Nine labourers killed as roof collapses in Andhra

The tragedy occured when the roof of an under construction building collapsed in the port city of Visakhapatnam.

Nine labourers, including three women, have been killed and ten others injured when the roof of an under construction building collapsed in the port city of Visakhapatnam.

The mishap occurred in sector six of the steel city complex last night when the roof of the building caved in killing nine and injuring ten others, police said.

All the victims were construction workers from the neighbouring villages. They were resting after completing the day's work when the mishap occurred.

Injured were admitted to Government Hospital at the steel city.

Meanwhile, the Opposition TDP demanded judicial enquiry into the incident and Rs three lakh exgratia for the victims.
