The RJD-Congress combine stepped up its attacks on Bihar's NDA government, dubbing it as an "utter failure" on all fronts, and sought the resignation of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

"No parallel can be drawn between the NDA government and the RJD regime of 15 years. More crime has taken place during the 90 days of Nitish Kumar's governance than in our 15-year rule", opposition leader and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi said.

She was reacting to Deputy Chief Minister SK Modi's claim that the NDA rule in Bihar was helping the state cast off its image as a lawless and under-developed region.

The Nitish Kumar government completed three months in office on Thursday.

Alleging that the Nitish government was "a total failure on all fronts", she said that there had been a "phenomenal rise" in cases of kidnapping, extortion, murder and rape over the past 90 days.

The RJD leader demanded Chief Minister's resignation on moral grounds for not fulfilling his promise of making Bihar "crime-free" within three months.

"After all, he has himself set the deadline for freeing the state from crime", she said.
