An announcement to this effect was made by JD (U) parliamentary party leader Sharad Yadav at a function to celebrate the birth anniversary of Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur in Patna on Tuesday. “Chief minister Nitish Kumar is not going to fight the polls. He will be representing the Vidhan Parishad,” Yadav said.
Explaining the logic behind the decision, Yadav said: “We, the entire NDA, contested the assembly polls in his name. He has been unanimously elected leader of the NDA.”
