NN House may get a new look

It may be noted that after the delimitation of wards, the number of corporators has increased for the first time from 70 to 80. So the NN has prepared a plan with a budget of Rs 20 lakh for development of House complex.
The renovation of chairs and floor of the House is the first priority.
Besides, the Nagar Nigam has planned to install the closed circuit TV cameras inside the House so that proceeding as well as the role of corporators inside the House can be made available to public.
The functioning of Nagar Nigam House would also be recorded from the coming session.
Though the NN Chief Engineer was asked by the then Mayor and the then Municipal Commissioner at the time of foundation laying ceremony of multi- purpose hall of NN in presence of Justice AK Yog nearly one year ago to prepare a proposal to give a new look to the House, the plan, however, has not been prepared so far.
Now when the number of corporators is increased then there is no option other than Nagar Nigam administration to change the present nature of NN House.
Hence, the administration has asked the Chief Engineer to prepare a project in this regard.
According to sources, the microphones would be fixed on their table. Apart from this portrait paintings of national leaders would also be placed in the new House.
Old seating arrangement would be replaced with new one. Press gallery is also likely to be strengthened this time, said the sources.
Meanwhile, the officials are confident to complete the work before the constitution of new NN body in November this year.
