The bail petition was rejected by Judge SP Mahajan, who said a prime facie case was made out against Nayak and Padate.

Nayak and Padate on Monday surrendered before the court in keeping with the Supreme Court directives.

Earlier, a session's court had rejected the bail plea of Nayak, his wife Komal and associate Padate. Being aggrieved, he moved the Bombay High Court, which also rejected the bail plea of Nayak and Padate, but granted bail to Komal.

The duo then moved the Supreme Court, which asked them to first surrender before the court and said that their plea for bail will be heard on the same day if they apply for bail.
