In a jolt to actor Salman Khan, a Jodhpur rural court has denied clubbing of around 16 year-old poaching and illegal arms cases against him.
"This does not come under the definition of cross cases and will not appropriate to club the cases at this stage," Judge Vyas observed in his decision. He also underlined the late filing of application before rejecting the revision petition.
During filming of ‘Hum Saath Saath Hein’ in 1998, Salman was booked in three poaching cases and arms act case.
After his personal appearance at the chief judicial magistrate (CJM) court here on January 29 last, it was contended that since both the cases are related and their trial is in progress before the same court, both the cases be clubbed to avoid any adverse affect of the decision on pending case.
After the CJM court rejected the plea, Salman approached the district court with a revision petition.
The trial in the arms act case resumed on May 25 last year after 7 years of suspension following Rajasthan high court’s rejection of the revision petition, which was filed by the state government in 2006.
The court had rejected the petition on May 15 last year.
