No connection between M'rashtra polls and UPA's rule: Cong

Congress has dismissed suggestions that the outcome of M'rashtra polls would be a referendum on working of UPA at the Centre.

The Congress on Friday dismissed suggestions that the outcome of Maharashtra Assembly polls would be a referendum on working of the UPA Government at the Centre.

"I don't think there is slightest connection between the Maharashtra Assembly polls and performance of the UPA government at the Centre. If this is the case, then the (erstwhile) NDA government had lost ten or 12 state elections," party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi told reporters in New Delhi.

He said that the Maharashtra would witness continuance of Congress' "inexorable march to victory" as was seen in Lok Sabha and Arunachal Pradesh elections.
