AS MANY as 17 officials of the Madhya Pradesh police have been selected for President?s medals for distinguished services and meritorious services on the eve of Republic Day. However, no police officer of the State has been awarded the President?s medal for gallantry this year.
AS MANY as 17 officials of the Madhya Pradesh police have been selected for President’s medals for distinguished services and meritorious services on the eve of Republic Day. However, no police officer of the State has been awarded the President’s medal for gallantry this year.

Amongst the 17 officers, four belong to Indian Police Service. Two of them have been selected for distinguished services medal while the rest will get meritorious services medal.
DGP Swaraj Puri has congratulated these police officials. Those selected for distinguished services include IG UR Netam and Assistant Commandant MS Parmar. The officials who have been selected for medal for meritorious services includes IG PM Mohan, DIG GP Singh, DIG PS Phalnikar, SP IP Kulshreshtha, ASP KL Parteti, DSP RN Pateria, Inspector SK Upadhyaya,
Inspector KK Upadhyaya, Head Constables, Ramesh Prasad Ganjraj Singh, KK Dubey, SN Singh, Prabhulal, Constables Iqbal Beg, MP Shukla.
Surprisingly, this year no police officer of the State has been selected for President’s medal for gallantry. Last year medals were announced to 37 officers of the State among whom 3 got the President’s medal for gallantry. In 2004, 29 officers of State were given the medals including gallantry medals to several officials.
