Talking to the DM and the SSP who had together gone to the residence of Kaif on Friday his father told the officers that what ever he said after the incident of vandalism at his house was just the expression of his emotions. His saying that he would leave the city meant he would shift to his Noida house where Kaif and his sister live. I never meant that I would leave UP, he is understood to have told the officers.
The DM and the SSP who had gone to see security arrangements at the house of Kaif were told by the cricketer's father that there was no physical threat to him or his family members except for the fact that security was required when International matches were played by the country. He said, the visit of the DM and the SSP at his house has come as a big morale booster and he was thankful to the administration for this nice gesture.
Kaif's father also presented a cricket bat to the DM with which his son earlier used to play the game.
The controversy arose after activists of a political party gathered at the residence of the cricketer following the Indian team's debacle in South Africa.
They allegedly raised slogans against coach Geg Chappel and captain Rahul Dravid of the Indian team. Later some persons hurled stones at the cricketer's residence.
