There was no respite from the heat as Wednesday's temperature surpassed the highest temperature 44.5°C recorded on Tuesday.

The maximum temperature in the city shot at least six notches above average to 45.1°C, making it the season's hottest day so far, Met official said.

The minimum temperature in Jammu was recorded at 26.8 degree Celsius, which, too, is three degrees above the normal.

A met official said the heat wave would continue to sweep across the Jammu region and the maximum temperature would hover around the 45°C mark and weather will remain dry for at least next couple of days.
