On the second and last day for filing of nomination papers, 93 candidates filed their nomination papers for different post, taking up to the nomination papers filed in past two day to 139. It is notable that 46 nomination papers were filed on Monday.
On December 7, the nomination papers will be scrutinised while December 8 will be the last day for withdrawal of the names.
Polling would be held on December 12.
Nine nomination papers for the post of president were filed on Tuesday including Rajesh Kumar Pandey, Pradeep Singh Sahjanwa, Ranvijay Singh, Saddam Husain, Hareshyam Singh Shrinetra, Vinod Kumar Mishra, Siddharth Ojha, Rajiv Singh and Vijay Kumar. Six nomination papers were filed for the post of president on Monday. The total number of the contestants is now 15 for the president’s post. Similarly for the vice-president post, 15 nomination papers were filed on the second day including Anupam Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, Saddam Husain, Akhilesh Tripathi, Manvendra Narain Singh, Shambhu Kumar Singh, Asuthosh Yadav, Astbhuja Pandey, Vijay Pratap Shrinetra, Devendra Kumar, Ravi Prakash and Rakesh Singh.
Five nomination papers were filed on the first day. The total number of candidates for vice-president post is now 20.
For general secretary’s post, eight nomination papers were filed including Nizamuddin Khan, Baljeet, Sanjeev Tripathi, Neeraj, Abhinav Kumar, Shariq Irshad, Shweta Singh and Pawan Singh. 13 nomination papers were filed for Library science post including Tanveer Alam, Anirudh Yadav, Raghvendra Kumar Singh, Vikas Kumar, Naveen Pandey, Vivek Dubey and others.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Arun Kumar has expressed his pleasure over the implementation of election code of conduct and said the contestants had cooperated with university authorities.
‘It’s a healthy indication and we hope that constructing and cooperative students union would be constituted’, he added.
The fear of election code of conduct spells over the students leaders, processions as the nomination process was no incident of berserk and no unruly scene was witnessed.
