Angry over the failure of the civic authorities to clear encroachments on the River Yamuna despite its earlier directions, the Delhi High Court on Thursday summoned the MCD Commissioner and the Additional Commissioner, JJ Wing to appear before the court on August 10.

A Division Bench of Acting Chief Justice Vijender Jain and Justice Kailash Ghambhir also asked the City Police Commissioner to take disciplinary action against the Joint Commissioner of Police, Deep Chand for reportedly writing a critical letter to the Chairman of the Yamuna River Water.
