Now, a PAC of yadavs in the offing ?
Determined to have as many Yadavs in the police force as possible the state government appears to have found a way out to side track the Supreme Court which had directed governments not to exceed quota limits in services beyond 50 per cent.
Determined to have as many Yadavs in the police force as possible the state government appears to have found a way out to side track the Supreme Court which had directed governments not to exceed quota limits in services beyond 50 per cent.

Armed with the recent success to have maximum Yadav constables recruited in the police force the manipulative tricks are in full swing to stuff as many Yadavs in the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) as possible.
It may be mentioned that there is 27 percent quota for the OBCs while 22 percent covers SC/ST vacancies.
The remaining seats are left for the general candidates. The trick lies in having maximum Yadavs in the 27 per cent reserved for OBCs as well as in the general category. This is allegedly being done by deliberately giving high marks in the written examination, disclosed a senior police officer on condition of anonymity.
Many of the Yadavs were reportedly being asked by the selectors not to mention their caste in the forms to help in the deception. This is also a style of facilitating their entry through the general list, claim the sources.
The game plan is to recruit so much candidates so that there could be no need for further recruitment in the PAC till the year 2011, said the officer.
Senior police officers showing inclination of loyalty towards the state government have been hand-picked to control the selection process for the PAC constables in the State.
The manner in which the manipulation is going on the senior police officers feel that more than 70 per cent Yadavs will be ushered in the PAC this time while the general candidates with no other choice will have to resign to their fate.
Terming it as an outcome of narrow-mindedness on the part of the powers-that-be another police officer said, this would breed contempt for each other in the police force. Those who have come in genuinely would naturally frown at those who had managed the short cut just because a person of their clan was pushing them.
Such things are not good for a force which is expected to abide by discipline.
Sources said, nearly 7,000 vacancies are likely to be filled up in the PAC.
This wing of the police has already earned a bad name in public eyes for its biased role whenever and wherever it is deployed. No wonder now with caste factor being predominant it is difficult to assess what lies in store further.
Recruitment process is reported to be going on at nearly twelve places including Etawah, CM's home district, Etah, Kanpur, Sonebhadra, Azamgarh and other places.
Meanwhile, there are already reports of great resentment among those general candidates who have come to know the game-plan of the powers-that-be while the rest were reported to be hoping for the best, said a source.
