“The initial target is to set up around 40,000 fully integrated wireline PCOs across UP and Uttaranchal states by March 2007. These PCOs could also have the option of going in for either voice and Internet facility or only Internet facility”, sources said.

The first series of such integrated PCOs are being launched in Aligarh shortly, followed by the launch of similar PCOs across UP and Uttaranchal states. The PCOs being launched by Reliance would also have the capability to provide real-time video conferencing service if opted by the PCO owner. The company is also targeting rural set-ups dominated by rich farmers for offering voice, Internet and fax services through PCOs in UP.
