Nuke energy hardly the answer

The Indo-US nuke deal is bad for the US, bad for India and disastrous for non-proliferation. Not only will it vastly facilitate Indian development of nuclear weapons and stimulate a nuclear arms race in South Asia but it will divert considerable Indian resources that are urgently needed for promoting economic and social reform and development. Nuclear energy is not economical: it is not earth-friendly, producing waste that is toxic for thousands of years. It presents huge security risks at considerable cost.

It is certainly not in the best interests of the Indian people.

Nuclear energy is not economical: it is not earth-friendly, producing waste that is toxic for thousands of years. It presents huge security risks at considerable cost.

No cost-benefit analysis can justify civilian nuclear energy. The price of uranium has skyrocketed -- it is not cheap -- and makes consuming nations dependent on Canada and Australia.

The sole reason for nuclear energy is military!
