Number of dengue patients up to 15

Many suspected dengue patients from other districts are also admitted to the SRN Hospital and other private nursing homes here. According to the district malaria department, 13-year-old Vijay of Sohbatiyabagh tested positive for dengue at the Microbiology Department. Vijay was admitted to the hospital with high fever and other symptoms of dengue.
“While Vijay’s condition is stable, the other dengue patients are being closely observed,” said district malaria officer DN Shukla. District inspector of schools (DIOS) organised a dengue and malaria awareness programme at CAV Inter College, on Monday. Addressing the programme, district malaria officer DN Shukla discussed the symptoms and treatment of malaria, dengue and filaria.
“All are mosquito-borne diseases, and with little more care and prevention these could be warded off,” he said. The schools and degree college principals and teachers participated in the programme.
Meanwhile, chief medical officer Dr Shantimal Singhavi has ordered the officials to stop the salary of medical officer in-charge (MOIC) posted at Handia community health centre and an ANM at Saidabad sub-centre.
The medical officer in-chargewas found absent during the inspection of CMO on Monday.
During the inspection of Handia Community Health Centre, Dr Singhavi found that MOIC Dr RK Singh was absent from duty during the past five days.
He sought an explanation from him. The chief medical officer inspected Khedua sub-centre in Saidabad.
ANM Uma Srivastava posted at the sub centre was also found absent. The chief medical officer has ordered to stop her salary. Dr Singhavi said besides stopping their salary, a written explanation would be sought from Dr RK Singh and Uma Srivastava.
