The entire Talwar clan was present in the sessions court, headed by special judge S. Lal, where arguments on Nupur Talwar's bail and her interim bail request were heard on Monday.
Her counsel argued that Nupur may be given interim bail till her regular bail application is disposed of by the sessions court. Her counsels cited several high court rulings to support her case for the grant of the interim bail. Nupur's counsels also said her review petition was pending with the Supreme Court.
"I (Nupur) have roots in the society as I have a house, clinic as a dentist in Delhi and Noida. I enjoy a good reputation and even my passport is with the court. CBI's closure report itself mentioned that evidence against Aarushi's parents are deficient," Nupur's counsel pleaded before the court.Nupur Talwar's counsel also made a reference to Hindu mythology, wherein he said that a mother can't be the destroyer of her child.
On the other hand, the CBI counsels requested the court to grant a couple of days to file their reply on her bail application. On the interim bail issue, CBI senior public prosecutor RK Saini argued, "Every other person can go to jail but not these people."
"Even the Supreme Court refused to stay her trial and upheld the Ghaziabad court summon orders against her. They are not only facing murder charges for Aarushi but also for Hemraj. They simply cannot blackmail the court time and again," Saini said.
The Special Judge later concluded the arguments on the interim bail and issued the rejection order of Nupur's interim bail at around 4.30pm. The Sessions court also fixed the next date of hearing on Nupur's regular bail for Tuesday.
Nupur Talwar, who remained seated with her husband at the SJM court for the entire day, broke down after her family members informed her that her interim bail was rejected.
She was later escorted by women sleuths from the CBI and UP police on their way towards Dasna district prison in a Tata Sumo at 4.45pm.
