As polls continue to reflect a close contest for the White House, President Barack Obama is making an effort to fire up his campaign, Yashwant Raj reports.
On Thursday, he became the first president to vote early, a practice that’s caught on so fast almost a third of US voters are expected to cast their votes before election day in 2012.
Obama cast his vote in Chicago, during a whirlwind 48-hour non-stop tour of battleground states that ended Thursday. His wife beat him, though, voting on October 15.
Resorts to insult
He also resorted to insults. He used the word “bullsh***er” in the context of Romney’s ever-changing positions in an interview to a magazine.
When responding to a suggestion on his popularity among kids, he said: “You know, kids have good instincts. They look at the other guy and say, ‘Well, that’s a bullsh***er, I can tell,” the US President said.
The president is "rattled and defensive", said a Romney campaign advisor Kevin Madden." He’s running on empty and has nothing left but attacks and insults."
