Omar reviews Leh, Kargil LAHDC functioning

Chief minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday reviewed the functioning of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Councils (LAHDC) of Leh and Kargil at a high-level meeting, which was also attended by chief executive councillors Kachu Ahmad Ali and Rigzin Sapalbar and various executive councillors.

Chief minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday reviewed the functioning of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Councils (LAHDC) of Leh and Kargil at a high-level meeting, which was also attended by chief executive councillors Kachu Ahmad Ali and Rigzin Sapalbar and various executive councillors.

Matters pertaining to the creation of staff for council secretariats, powers of chief executive councillors, administrative matters, grant of divisional status to Ladakh for creation of police range and operationalisation of recently-created sub-transmission division of PDD were discussed in detail in the meeting.

Besides, issue regarding approval of projects for strengthening of transmission lines, placing of private secretaries, special assistance, PROs and PAs, enhancement of plan allocation and pensionery benefits to the chairman/CEC and councillors were also taken up.

Minister for urban development, Nawang Rigzin Jora; adviser to the chief minister, Qamar Ali Akhoon; minister of state for science and technology, Feroz Ahmad Khan; principal secretary, planning and development, BR Sharma; principal secretary to the CM, BB Vyas; principal secretary (home), Suresh Kumar; principal secretary (PDD) AK Mehta; commissioner secretary, GAD, Mushtaq Ahmad and various other senior officers were present in the meeting.
