One killed, 25 hurt in TDP, Cong clash in AP

Among those injured in last night's clash were 15 workers of the TDP and 10 of the Congress, police said.

A TDP worker was killed and 25 others, including former state minister JR Pushpha Raj, were injured when workers of TDP and Congress clashed in the temple town of Amaravathi in the district police said on Friday.

Among those injured in last night's clash were 15 workers of the TDP and 10 of the Congress, police said.

TDP worker J Odyaiah (50), who was injured in the violence, succumbed to his injuries at the government general hospital in Guntur on Thursday night, they said adding, an attack on a TDP leader's house in Amaravathi on Wednesday triggered the clash.

Panchayat elections are due in Guntur district on July 2.
