CHIEF MINISTER Mulayam Singh Yadav today approved all the 207 announcements that senior IAS officers made during their night stay in villages in different districts on December 13 and 14 last. The CM also gave his nod to penal action and probe that officers ordered during night stay even as he asked them to revisit the areas before March 15.

Some officers requested the CM to decontrol kerosene in view of complaints about its distribution from PDS shops.

The CM asked officers to revisit the areas to know about the progress. The CM lauded officers for improving the image of the State Government by their night stay programmes. The CM complimented the bureaucracy for working hard that resulted in Planning Commission’s decision to increase plan outlay for 2006-07 to Rs 19,000 crore.

Yadav asked officers to take steps for rehabilitation of beggars and destitute in the State. The CM said computerization of records was a good facility and asked officers to implement welfare programmes like pension and scholarship distribution in a transparent and time-bound manner.

Significantly, the meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere as officers freely expressed views before the CM and admitted lapses in their respective departments.
