The order came in response to petitions filed by Laxmanananda's disciple Madhav Chaitanya and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Durga Prasad Kar.

“The court ordered further investigation after accepting evidence placed by the petitioners. This new evidence has not been looked into by the investigating agency so far,” petitioner's lawyer Sarbeswar Behera said on Thursday.

The submitted ‘evidence' includes the role of witnesses and the church as well, said Behera.

According to Orissa chief secretary BK Patnaik, the government will definitely take action after going through the latest court order.
