Over 4,000 take UGC NET

THE UNIVERSITY Grants Commission’s National Eligibility Test and the MD/MS (Ayurveda) entrance examination were conducted peacefully at various centres in Banaras Hindu University on Sunday.
More than 4,000 candidates took the UGC NET at eight centres – the Institute of Technology, the MP Theatre, the Geography Department, the Statistics Department, the Chemistry Department, the Physics Department, the Mahila Mahavidyalaya and the Institute of Agricultural Sciences.
About 1,260 candidates took the MD/MS (Ayurveda) entrance examination at the Ayurveda Faculty and the Old CHC Building.
Banaras Hindu University rector Prof S. Lele, chief proctor Prof SK Singh and Dean of Students’ Welfare Prof VK Kumar visited all the centres to monitor the situation.
