Paheli opens Zimbabwe film festival

The 10-day festival, which ends on September 3, focuses on India and Poland, according to the organisers.

Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji starrer Paheli, based on a love story about a girl who falls in love with a ghost, opened the ninth Zimbabwe International Film Festival at the Libertie Cinema Complex in Harare.

The 10-day festival, which ends on September 3, focuses on India and Poland, according to the organisers.

Apart from film screenings, various master classes, seminars, workshops on animation and new technologies are being organised.

Forty countries including Germany, Kenya, Poland, South Africa, Britain and Zimbabwe are taking part in the festival.

A few award-winning documentaries tackling issues like identity, gender, war and reconciliation and urban culture have been selected for screening.

The panel of jury include Sunsleey Chamunorwa, editor of The Financial Gazette, Soukaina Edom, choreographer, and ZTV's Benson Mufunde.
