Pakistani channels go off air

Cable operators in Srinagar have been asked to stop airing Pakistani TV channels as they are being broadcast without permission.

Cable operators in Srinagar have been asked to stop airing Pakistani television channels as they were being broadcast without permission.

This follows an order by District Magistrate of Srinagar Sheikh Ejaz Iqbal on Wednesday.

Cable operators, who relay PTV, Geo and Aaj have been asked to stop airing these channels which require permission from Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Iqbal said in his order.
