Early in the morning children, led by Sunday school teachers, took to the streets in every village and locality carrying palm leaves, singing hymns and chanting Bible verses.

Though normal Sunday church services were held, the priests and preachers concentrated on the subject of Christ's triumphant entry into Jerusalem.

Palm Sunday is celebrated every year on the last Sunday before Good Friday.
