Owners of sweets shop in the city make a lot of money selling the sweets.

Om Sweets, Sector 14, offers four varieties of ghewar that include Kesar ghewar, Malai ghewar, Khoya ghewar and plain ghewar." Vivek Sharma, unit manager of Om Sweets, said, "Traditionally, the season of ghewar begins with the festival of Teej and ends with Janmasthmi."

He said, "It is made of a mixture of milk and maida."

Bikanerwala at Sector 12-A has introduced five varieties of ghewar. The rate of the same starts from Rs360 and goes up to Rs470 per kg.

Talking about the sale and craze of the sweets among residents, Ankit Mehta, unit manager of Bikanerwala, said, "It is just the beginning of the season. We are selling nearly 10 kg of each variety. And near teej festival, it is expected to go up."
