The Vidhan Sabha's decision to let off CNN-IBN chief Rajdeep Sardesai without personal appearance in a breach of privilege case has angered the committee members probing the sting operation, ‘Neta Bikta Hai’. The members on Tuesday offered to resign to protest against the decision.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Azam Khan apologised for not dealing with the issue properly. Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey said the decision to accept Sardesai's apology for not responding to various notices was taken at the meeting of all-party leaders.

BJP’s Lakshmi Kant Bajpai and chairman of the committee P.K. Rai argued that when the committee was appointed after a unanimous decision in the House, how come the issue was resolved at a closed door meeting without informing the committee. They further said such a decision makes no sense or relevance to the committee and thus all the members were ready to resign.
