Paper theft: Exam date extended

DIRECTORATE OF Public Instructions (DPI) has extended the dates of examination of English and Economics papers of Class XI to April 29 and May 1 in Mandla district.

The decision was taken following theft of Class XI question papers in the Mavai of Mandla district.  However, all papers were recovered. The rest of the question papers have been replaced.

Open School HS result declared
THE Madhya Pradesh State Open School Bhopal has declared the results of its higher secondary examinations conducted in January 2006.

A total of 17,224 candidates had appeared in the exams. These included the 8,530 students admitted in the first session of the year 2005 and 8,694 failed students of the previous sessions.

The examinations were conducted at 160 study centres of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The results would be displayed on the notice board of the office of the Open School.

The pass percentage of results declared was 41.82. This included 484 students with first division, 3,545 students second and 3,175 students with third division.

The examinations for the students declared failed in this and previous sessions would be held in June-July next. Such students on the basis of their mark-sheets could apply at Study Centre along with the examination fee of Rs 50 for each subject through challan or bank draft.
