Passengers got infuriated further when railway officials negating their mistake, cut half the price of the tickets when passengers reached the ticket counter after missing the Neelanchal Express.

According to information, the feeding of the arrival and departure of trains is fed at National Train Enquiry System (NTES) at Tundla and Allahabad and passengers get the information of trains by dialing 1331 here in the city.

Sources said on Friday, the timing of Neelanchal Express arrival from Delhi was fed as 1.30 pm, one hour behind it’s scheduled arrival at 12.30 pm.

The anxiety of a dozen of passengers who had come from Yashoda Nagar, Naubasta and Swarup Nagar area besides some other places increased manifold when on reaching the station at 1.00 pm after confirming the arrival time of the train on phone after dialing 1331, passengers got a virtual jolt when they on reaching the station came to know that the train had left the station at 12.50 pm.

Incensed, passengers reached the office of the Station Master, and were told that here at the station the information about 20 minutes delayed arrival was fed in the computers and were consoled that alternative arrangements would be made for passengers who had missed the train.

The woes of the passengers were aggravated when the booking clerks started deducting half the price from passengers. Again, passengers returned to the office of the station master and created ruckus. Later, some railway officials consoled them but those who missed the Neelanchal Express had to console themselves with half the ticket price besides missing the train due to miscommunication by the Railways.
