Paswan hails Raj's arrest, stresses calm
As the anti-north Indian violence triggered by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) culminated in the arrest of its leader Raj Thackeray on Wednesday, Union Fertiliser Minister Ramvilas Paswan hailed the police action, dubbing it as "belated but justified."
"Thackeray should have been arrested earlier for his comments that triggered violence against north Indians across several towns in Maharashtra. The law should have taken its course even earlier," Paswan, also LJP President, told PTI while reacting to his arrest.
Mumbai police arrested Thackeray on charges of promoting enmity between groups.
