Patel suffers bruise on wrist

Indian pacer injured his bowling arm while fielding during the ODI against Windies. As a result, he did not bowl his full quota of overs.

Indian pacer Munaf Patel injured his bowling arm while fielding during the Champions Trophy Group 'A' cricket match against West Indies on Thursday.

Munaf was taken to a local hospital for a precautioary x-ray, which revealed a bruise on the wrist.

"There is no fracture. And there is no cause for concern," Indian media manager Rajan Nair told newspersons after the match.

Munaf did not bowl his full quota of overs as he got injured.

"He had bowled very well in his first spell. But he was not available towards the end of the West Indies innnings because of the injury," Indian skipper Rahul Dravid said.

Munaf got the wicket of Chris Gayle and finished with figures of 8-2-29-1.
