A PDP worker was killed and 10 others, including two security men, injured when militants exploded a grenade in the busy Sopore township of north Kashmir on Monday, official sources said.
Militants hurled the grenade towards a security patrol in the township, 45 kms from Srinagar, around 1545 hours, injuring nine pedestrians and two securitymen, the sources said.
The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital where the PDP worker identified as Ghulam Qadir rather, was declared brought dead, the sources said.
Four seriously injured civilians have been referred to Srinagar for specialised treatment, while rest of the six were admitted in the hospital, the sources said.
