A dystopian novel, Clockwork Orange fascinated me: Kiran Manral
Read: Kiran Manral, Author of The Reluctant Detective

One Hundred Years of Solitude Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
This is a book that introduced me to magic realism. I was overwhelmed by the sheer vastness of its canvas which spans multiple generations of the Buendía family, the way the narrative weaves back and forth and the interweaving of the magical with the mundane.

Jane Eyre, Charlotte Bronte
Another book I read in my teens. The character of Jane Eyre fascinates me, her childhood as an orphan in an institution, her role as a governess, her love for Mr Rochester, another powerful male protagonist in literature.

Three Men In A Boat, Jerome K Jerome
I was introduced to Jerome K Jerome;s masterpiece in school. A light-hearted narrative about three men in the late 19th century who set out on a boating holiday down the Thames, the book slips in powerful life lessons.

Fear Of Flying, Erica Jong
This was my coming of age book. Isadora White Wing was the anti-heroine I identified with, her fantasies, her acting them out, her insecurities, her actual fear of flying which serves as a metaphor for her own inability to let herself go.

A Clockwork Orange, Anthony Burgess
A dystopian novel, the language, Nadsat, fascinated me as did the ‘ultraviolence’ of the protagonist and his droogs. Recently, during the London riots, I realised how prescient Burgess had been.

Dance again by Jennifer Lopez is super sexy and bold: DJ Khushi
Listen: DJ Khushi

Dance again, JLO
I love this track because Jennifer Lopez has sung the song in a very sensual way. The video is outstanding. It’s super sexy and very bold, and you just want to stare at it again and again.

Gotye feat Kimbra, Somebody That I Used To Know
The melody features two amazing voices and a very different style of singing. It reminds me of the ’60s, but at the same time, it’s very modern and very classy.

Pani Ka Rang, Vicky Donor
The movie has been a super hit. Everyone loved it, especially this particular song . It has a sufi touch to it which I love. Interestingly, sufi is definitely the flavour of the season. What’s great is that the lead actor has sung it himself, and he’s done a brilliant job. The lyrics are also amazing.

Anarkali Disco Chali, Housefull 2
I think this is the song of the season. I've remixed this song officially and it’s got great response from the media. People in clubs and at weddings are loving this track.

Pungi, Agent Vinod
Mika and Pritam da have done it again. They are a deadly combo and have given so many hits together. The best part of this song is the lyrics. The beat is also very catchy and no one can keep themselves from dancing. It’s been a hit not just with adults, but also with the kids.

Prithvi Cafe makes a good evening so very affordable: Hardik Parekh
Eat: Hardik Parekh, owner and chef of Apicus, Andheri (W)

Silver Beach Cafe, Juhu
I love this for its very authentic Australian look, feel and of course, the food. I’ve spent eight years Down Under, so going to this café is like taking a trip down memory lane.

Moshes, Juhu
For bringing quality to the cafe culture in India, this place deserves a mention. The ambience is laidback and relaxed, reminiscent of a cafe’s, but the food is fresh and completely unlike the synthetic stuff that most places serve now. I love this mix

Out Of The Blue, Juhu
This place genuinely respects its customers. The tables are reasonably far apart and one can actually have a private conversation without the people on the next table merrily listening in and taking notes! The music is nice and the vibe is mellow.

Prithvi Cafe, Juhu
It makes a good evening so very affordable! The Suleimani chai is to die for. Add a samosa to the mix and you’re set!

Indigo Deli, Juhu
For making me hungry just looking at the food! I believe in food aesthetics, so I like how they plate their food.

Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro is an evergreen all-time favourite: Hiten Tejwani
Watch: Hiten Tejwani, actor

Life Is Beautiful (1997)
The point of the film is why one should live life to the fullest. The story and the characters teach us that we should love life. The relationship between the father and his son is so beautiful, and it was touching to see them struggle against all odds.

El Mariachi (1993)
This film is a prequel to Antonio Banderas’s Desperado. The story is about a violent kid travelling from one place to the other. The astonishing part was the way it was made, on a shoe-string budget, and edited on the spot. It became such a huge hit that the filmmaker could make a bigger film, Desperado, after that.

Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983)
It is an evergreen all-time favourite comedy. The film, perhaps, was made at the right time, and had talented actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Ravi Baswani and Satish Shah. It is a brilliant, situational comedy, yet effortless.

Andaaz Apna Apna (1994)
Salman Khan and Aamir Khan were brilliant in this Raj Santoshi film, which is now a cult classic. The heroes in the film weren’t larger than life, just fools who became heroes in the climax.

Titanic (1997)
Yet another huge hit, the film is the ultimate romance and has a fan following even today.
