Chief Judicial Magistrate Dharma Raj Mishra in his order said that the statement of the applicant seemed to be ‘borne out of political vengeance’ and dismissed it as ‘baseless’.
“There is no material on record in support of the allegations,” the Chief Judicial Magistrate observed in his order.
The court on Monday reserved its orders after hearing the applicant’s counsel.
The lawyer Ashok Pandey had in his petition referred to the allegations of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh to the media that their telephones were tapped at the behest of Sonia Gandhi and her close aides.
The charge has been denied by the Congress and the United Progressive Alliance Government.
